Sefton One Mile Races – Victoria Park, Southport

On Monday 22nd May, a team of children from across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, took part in the Sefton One Mile Races at Victoria Park. It was a lovely, sunny evening and our Marshside team were incredible ambassadors for our school. Every runner gave it their all and we are proud of their achievements. A special shout out to Maisie and Pippa (Y5) who helped run some of our solo runners across the line, showing our HEART values of empathy and respect. Well done team Marshside!

Footgolf – 18th May 2023

This afternoon, Mrs Owen took some of our Year 4 children to a Footgolf event at Stanley High School. They got to experience the interesting sport of Footgolf, scoring points for their team and working together to help each other succeed. It was lovely to be teamed up with two of our past pupils Corey and Jack and to hear how well they are doing at High School. Mrs Owen said they had a fantastic afternoon and the children were great representatives of Marshside ❤️ so well done Alfie, Harry, Isaac, Macie and Ryan.

Duddy Shield Second Round

Kingsmeadow v Marshside

Tonight saw the second round of the Duddy Shield, against a Kingsmeadow team away.

Following on from our 2-1 win against Larkfield B in the first round, we travelled to Ainsdale to meet Kingsmeadow, determined to give it our best!

It was a thrilling game full of tackles worthy of the Premier League, as well as great chances, amazing saves and a fantastic team spirit. Everyone played their hearts out but sadly it wasn’t meant to be, with Kingsmeadow clinching the win 1-0.

An incredible performance from an incredible team ❤️ well done to all the boys and coach Neil you did Marshside proud tonight. And thank you to our supporters on the sidelines, for taking the players to Ainsdale and cheering them on!

Team: Isaac H, Kanye, Josh J, Tyler, Metin, Finley, Thomas and Isaac L.

Well done Team Marshside ❤️

Football Match Report – 24th April 2023

Duddy Shield First Round
Larkfield B v Marshside

Tonight saw the first round of the Duddy Shield, against a Larkfield B team away.

Following on from our amazing 3 wins last week 😉 the team once again put on an incredibly passionate and determined performance.

Metin opened the scoring in the first half, which was followed by a goal from Larkfield to take the score to 1-1 at half time. Marshside came out strong in the second half, with Metin scoring a second and (in Neil’s words) “Isaac H made an absolutely awesome save with just 10 seconds to go” to win us the match 2-1 ❤️

An amazing performance from the whole team, which sees us through to the next round v Kingsmeadow. A huge well done to all the team and coach Neil! And thank you, as always, to our supporters on the sidelines ❤️

Team: Isaac H, Kanye, Josh J, Tyler, Metin, Finley, Thomas and Isaac L.

Man of the Match: the whole team ❤️

Football Match Report – 19th April 2023

This evening saw the second of our Matchdays in the Hooton League, with three back to back games in the sunshine.

As always, the team were fantastic representatives of Marshside. Even when faced with some tricky situations and unfair decisions, they didn’t let it get to them and battled on with true Marshside resilience ❤️

Our first game was against Holy Family, where we saw a goal unfairly disallowed (due to our ball hitting the referee). So although the game officially finished 1-1 (despite protests) we all know it was 2-1 to us 💪🏻

We bounced back, dug deep and won our following two games 3-0 (against Norwood C) and 2-1 (against Kew Woods B).
So 3 wins and a very happy Team Marshside ❤️

Well done to Isaac H, Metin, Finley, Zac, Josh J, Toby, Isaac L, Thomas and Tyler.

Man of the Match: Isaac Hughes

Thank you to all the boys for displaying such fabulous behaviour, and to all our parents and family members who came along to cheer us on ❤️⚽️
